How does Starbucks Rewards work?

Register online and use your Starbucks Card or the Starbucks app every time you visit. For every 1 CHF you spend with us, you get 2 Stars. Every 200 Stars you get a drink on the house. You reach Gold level by collecting 500 Stars. Gold Members enjoy a free extra, such as syrups, toppings, milk alternatives or whipped cream. You also get a free drink on your birthday.

 

How do I sign up for Starbucks Rewards?

You can sign up online. The best thing to do is to download the Starbucks app directly from the App Store and create a new user account there. If you have a physical Starbucks Card, you can link it to your Starbucks Online account by providing your card number and personal identification number.

 

Where can I find the Starbucks app?

You can download the Starbucks app directly from the App Store or Google Play Store.

 

How many Starbucks Cards can I register for Starbucks Rewards?

You can register only one Starbucks Card to your account.

 

Will My Starbucks Rewards be recognized at all Starbucks stores?

Collecting Stars and redeeming Rewards is possible in all Starbucks stores in Switzerland (except for the stores at Zurich and Geneva airports, Olten and Fribourg train stations and Pathé Geneva).

 

Why do I have to register in order to join the program?

As part of the registration process, you enter your contact information so that we can offer you benefits such as a free drink on your birthday. In addition, signing up also ensures balance protection, for example, if you lose your Starbucks Card. Finally, by signing up, you can manage your account online. Please remember that signing up requires a valid address.

We have transferred your Stars, your rewards as well as your balance to the new program. Furthermore, we will save your status for the next 12 months. This gives you enough time to reach the Gold level.

 

I am already a Starbucks Rewards member. How will my Stars be transferred to the new program?

We multiply your Stars according to the new program structure. You will see two Star balances: On the one hand, your status Stars and on the other the Stars to your next free drink.

 

I am already a Starbucks Rewards member and am having trouble with the password update.

Here are some tips in case you have problems with the password update:

To reset your password, simply click on the "Forgot password" link and follow the instructions.

As an app user, you have to update the app in the App Store first. Check your spam folder and add [email protected] to your safe sender list. The link to update your password is valid for 30 minutes. I’ve collected 200 Stars. How do I get my free drink?

Your free drink is available with your Starbucks app or card. Tell your barista that you want to redeem 200 Stars for it.

No. You can also save your Stars. They are valid for 2 years.

Your Stars are valid for 2 years. After that they expire. Please note that you need to collect at least 500 Stars per year to keep your Gold status.

 

What do I have to do to secure my status as a Gold member?

You have to collect at least 500 Stars over the course of a year. Otherwise, you'll revert back to Green level, where you'll still get a drink on the house every 200 Stars.

 

500 Stars per year seems like quite a few to qualify for the Gold level. Why so many?

It's not as much as you might think. For every 1 CHF you spend with us, you get twice as many Stars. Every 200 Stars you also get a drink on the house. And remember – it’s a free program, so we’re excited to welcome in more people at every level.

 

How long does it take to see my accumulated Stars after using the Starbucks app or Starbucks Card?

Stars earned from using the app or your registered Starbucks Card will be available on your account within 24 hours.
